Lactic Acid Bacteria

 

Microbial Developments use a range of fermenters from 15 to 15,000 litres and can produce by fermentation, a wide range of Lactic Acid Bacteria single cultures including:

  • Lactobacillus plantarum
  • Lactococcus lactis lactis
  • Lactobacillus acidophilus
  • Streptococcus (Enterococcus) faecium
  • Pediococcus acidilactici
  • Pediococcus pentosaceus
The bacteria in each fermentation, are concentrated via centrifugation and freeze drying to produce a free-flowing, off-white powder containing a minimum of 10¹¹ cfu/g.

The product can be bulk packed, e.g. 25kg bags, or combined with excipient(s) and packed in foil laminate sachets in our modern form fill seal machine.

Lactic Acid Bacteria produced by Microbial Developments Ltd. are currently used to manufacture silage additives and probiotics.
